Graphing Questions

These topics/questions lend themselves to graphing and encourage student participation:

Which apple do you prefer:  red, green, yellow

Graph the type of shoe “fastenings” (Velcro, buckles, shoelaces…)

For Valentine’s Day, graph the color of candy hearts.

Children’s eye color, hair color, height, favorite color

Graph children’s birthdays, # of siblings, # or kind of pets.

Easter — Create a circle graph of students’ opinion… Do you like the taste of black jelly beans?  Yes = smiley face, No = frowning face

Graphing Book Choice — Display 3 different books & have children vote on the book that they’d like the teacher to read.  The book with the most votes is the book that the teacher reads.
